Little Libby Wants to Join the Club
Little Libby Wants to Join the Club tells the powerful story of a young girl who is excited to join the Girl Scouts—until she is told she cannot because of segregation. Saddened but determined, Libby dreams of a future where Black girls are welcomed and included. With encouragement from her mother, Libby studies, learns, and grows into a leader.
All grown up, Elizabeth Kimberlin organized Lebanon, Ohio’s first Black Girl Scout troop and helped integrate Camp Butterworth—creating opportunities that ripple across generations. This story shows how courage, learning, and inclusion can change history.
